RACE THE SPACE CURRENTLY CLOSED FOR RELOCATION

These multi-week courses are designed to introduce movement vocabulary and execution of the fundamentals of technique that focuses on a particular style. These courses are geared to the mover with no experience or to former movers who wish to refresh their skills in a slower-paced setting. Dancers in these classes develop an understanding of proper technique and concepts such as weight change, balance, and body placement.

Beginning classes are geared towards movers with little to no experience, and though it is not a requirement, it is helpful for dancers to have some prior knowledge. Beginning classes focus
on the fundamentals of a particular style, with a heavy emphasis on repetition and tend to move at a slower pace. Some choreography may be introduced in these classes. These classes continue to build on a dancer's understanding of proper technique, including weight changes, balance, and body placement.

Intermediate classes are geared towards movers with enough experience to feel confident to challenge their current understanding of a particular style. These classes have a continued emphasis on proper technique and introduce various intricacies in technique, musicality, style, and length of material being given. Intermediate level dancers are expected to be able to move at a moderate pace in order to challenge their physical and mental capabilities of learning dance technique and choreography.

Advanced classes are geared towards movers that are able to assimilate material quickly while adding their own personal style to the movement being given. Dancers have a deep understanding of the style being taught and are able to adjust quickly to the learning environment. Dancers in these classes vary from an intermediate dancer wishing to challenge themselves, or a professional dancer wishing to maintain/advance their current technical abilities.

Speciality classes occur at least once a month and add diversity to the studios current class roster, providing our students with a new style that is not offered on a normal basis. These classes are designed to engage with new and beginner movers into the space to experience a brand new style, but is open to any level dancer.

Previous specialty classes include: Salsa (Latin Fusion), Swing (Swingout OKC), Lebanese Dabke (Danny Chakron), Bharatanatyam Indian (Renita Fernandes), Irish (Kerry Latham), and Scottish Highland (Elizabeth Kabrick).

Master classes are a specialized classes that are taught by an expert in that style and geared to the intermediate-advanced level dancers. These classes give dancers the opportunity to spend a period of time focusing on improving their knowledge and technique of a certain style of dance.

These classes are geared for dancers building their performances skill for the camera. Geared toward intermediate/advanced levels, dancers will learn choreography quickly and then be filmed on camera in groups. These classes are great for dancers seeking reel footage or want to build their performance skills.
