Juneteenth on the East
Juneteenth on the East is a celebration for all people to come together and peacefully rejoice in freedom, exchange in culture, and uplift the community. RACE is honored to be part of the performance line up this year, and will also have a booth during the day! Stop by and say hi, and support our community and freedom! Performance begins at 3:00pm, and there’s other great events to participate in leading up the 15th:

Connections
Dancing Turtle Arts Festival | June 6-9th in Stillwater, Oklahoma
Performance is June 8th @ 3:00pm Doors open at 2:30.
RACE is performing in the Saturday concert "Connections", which will feature six dynamic dance professional dance companies from across Oklahoma, showcasing diverse genres of dance.
ADMISSION IS FREE and the concert is open to the community, including all ages. Invite your friends and family for a fantastic show that celebrates dance in Oklahoma and the power of coming together as a community.✨
Movie Night in the Gardens: Barbie
RACE is partnering with SPARK Summer Movies this month for their Barbie Movie! Food trucks begin at 7pm, activities at 8pm, and the film at 9:15pm. Learn the iconic dance from the Barbie movie with RACE dancers and then dance on the lawn during the scene in the movie!
Dance on the Plaza
Come dance with us during the Plaza District’s Dance on the Plaza!! RACE and Swingout OKC will be offering four fun (and free!) classes right outside of Bad Granny’s:

Kpop Class Series
Exercise your physical, mental, and emotional health through this K-Pop Dance for Beginners class with RACE Dance Collective. Designed for ages 6-11, this class will share basic Kpop moves and conclude with a fun combo!
Classes are 6-7pm at Pioneer Library in Norman on Wednesdays in May! (5/1, 5/8, 5/15, 5/22, and 5/29)

MetroFamily Kids Festival
Come hang out with RACE at 10:30am; we have a fun activity booth and a performance at MetroFamily’s Kids Fest 2024 on April 20!
10am-2pm, rain or shine! $8 for ages 2-17, Adults are FREE!
Families will enjoy dozens of children’s activities such as petting zoos, stage performances, family games, crafts, character meet and greets and face painting at Kids Fest 2024, to be held April 20 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Rose State College Student Union and outdoor lawn area located at 1910 Hudiburg Drive in Midwest City. All activities have been moved indoors so the fun can continue! In place of bounce houses, we will have an obstacle course and giant games like Jenga, Connect Four, Checkers and Chess, plus a lot of other fun activities.
Parking is free and admission is only $8 at the door for children ages 2 -17. Adults and babies under age 2 are FREE!

Cruise down historic Automobile Alley for the district’s holiday open house and experience its stunning light display during the 8th annual Lights On Broadway event! The fun returns in 2023 for three Saturdays this season: December 2nd, 9th, and 16th.
Each Saturday from 3-7pm, various retail shops and restaurants will feature buzz-worthy window displays, in addition to pop-up activities, special promotions, and giveaways. Attendees can also enjoy family-friendly programming along the sidewalks such as live music, balloon art, performances, photos with Santa Claus, and more.

RACE is thrilled to partner with the OKCPhilharmonic for it’s annual holiday event, A Very Merry Pops! Catch RACE’s newest company, Red Dirt Tap Company, perform as dancing Santa’s in this year’s event!

Grab your family and friends for an incredible re-imagining of the classic Nutcracker holiday story! RACE Dance Collective will offer us a PREVIEW SHOWING of their December 8th-10th full-length performances at OCCC’s Visual & Performing Arts Center. Performances at OCCC will be presented in both English and Spanish narrations, and tickets for those will go on sale November 1 on OCCC's website.

Neighborhood Arts
Neighborhood Arts, a collaboration with the Metropolitan Library System, is a summer staple that provides performances for families across the metro that are fun, free, and interactive! Throughout June and July, audiences can enjoy a variety of musical styles and performing arts, such as rock music, puppet shows, hip-hop demonstrations, and opera. Black History Month Dance class
Join RACE at the Downtown Metropolitan Public Library for a Black History Month demo class, which will include a short dance lesson on the foundation of hip hop!

Dance the night away in this urban outdoor dance space! Beginning at 7pm, RACE instructors will give a dance demo followed by a free session for all. At 8pm, DJs will crank up the tunes to get the free dance started. Drink and food specials will be offered to highlight the night. Food and drinks will be available for purchase.
